Join Erin Olds, Jordan Merica, Ronkwahrhakónha, and Hinahina Gray on March 23, 2024 at 11:00am Pacific Time. for an important discussion about Indigenous Representation in Literature.

If you have ever wondered if non-Indigenous writers should include Indigenous characters in their writing and what editors should look for when they do, this panel presentation around Indigenous representation brings Indigenous editors and readers directly to you.

We'll discuss how to approach Indigenous representation in literature and what to avoid and have an in-depth conversation about Indigenous representation in Sci-Fi and fantasy. A Q&A session follows. Come with questions, leave with actionable steps to improve your representation and your editing skills!

The panel will be followed by a Kitchen Table Talk for Indigenous participants that will be hosted by Rita Bouvier.

About the Association

The Indigenous Editors Association is a membership organization that was formed by Indigenous editors and publishing professionals in lands claimed by Canada as a mutual support network. We are here to carry out the vision of our early organizers and to create professional development and networking opportunities.
